Face Shape Changes

-
Fat Redistribution
-
Fat will slowly redistribute to the more typically “feminine areas”
-
In particular, fat will move to the cheeks and around the jaw.
-
Your jawline is likely to become much less prominent as fat moves to cover the jaw bones.
-
Your face shape will likely become softer and rounder overall.
-
-
-
Fuller Cheeks
-
Increased fat deposition in the cheeks can make the face appear fuller and less angular.
-
-
Reduction in Muscle Mass
-
The reduction in muscle mass also applies to your facial muscles, which also impacts how soft and round your face appears.
-
One of the most significant areas this applies to is your jawline, with it becoming less pronounced as muscle in that area reduces and softens the overall face shape

.
-
Thinner Neck
-
This decreased muscle mass will also typically lead to a thinner and more slender neck.
-
Slower Changes
These changes typically begin within a few months of starting hormone therapy but it can take several years to see the full effects of HRT on your face shape, with it being one of the slower changes you are likely to observe.

Will the changes to my face shape revert if I stop taking E?
Yes, your fat will slowly redistribute and your increased muscle mass will return, both contributing to your face shape returning to something similar to prior to HRT (ageing and weight changes will also affect how similar your body looks). This will likely be quite a slow process, just as the original change was.
