Emotional Changes

Of course emotional experiences vary between individuals likely even more significantly than physical ones, but we've tried to address a few commonly discussed emotional changes.
-
Emotional Processing
-
One commonly reported change is a greater level of detachment from your emotions; not that you aren't experiencing things or feeling things deeply, but that your emotions no longer overwhelm you in the same way and you have a greater level of control/choice in how you experience them.
-
This might mean you feel a sense of being able to "turn the volume up or down" on your emotions, and have more of a choice how intensely immersed in an emotion you are going to be.
-
Obviously this doesn't apply all the time (and some people won't experience this at all) and some emotions will be so intense that you can't have any degree of choice in how you experience them.

-
Crying
-
Another very common experience is changes in how easily you can/will cry, and/or what you cry at.
-
A lot of transmascs report finding it harder to cry, or even losing the ability to cry seemingly at all, or it only being an incredibly rare occurrence.
-
Sometimes this can be upsetting and/or frustrating, as crying can provide an emotional release that you now seemingly can't access
-
-
Some people will find this lessens over time, but for others it will remain the same indefinitely
-
-
-
Anger
-
There is a stereotype of T making people more angry or aggressive, but this is massively over-exaggerated and often comes from a transphobic intent, trying to make T seem like something scary: something that will "ruin" gentle "girls" and make them aggressive, violent men
-
It does seem to be the case that some people will find T makes them more quick to anger or annoyance, but this is not the same as violence!
-
And even for those who do find themselves feeling more frustration, this will often calm down the longer you are on T, and as you adapt to the emotional changes you are feeling overall
-
-
-
Confidence
-
Many people report feeling more confident on T, more able to put themselves out there, and more willing to stand up for themselves
-
-
Energy
-
Another common change is feeling like you have more energy, although this is more of a mix of an emotional and physical change

Will emotional changes revert if I stop taking T?
It is most likely that your emotional experience will revert to something more like what it was before taking TT. However, it is also possible that the way you experienced emotions on T will stay with you to a degree, having experienced something different - such as continuing to feel more confident than before
